Our Story

Wick Guru creates hand poured natural soy wax candles using lead-free cotton wicks and the highest quality blend of phthalate-free, vegan fragrances. Our candles are made in small batches in a tiny Sussex kitchen to minimise waste and maintain quality and care.

BORN IN A TINY SUSSEX KITCHEN

It all started during lockdown. 

Whilst other people were baking banana bread, our founder’s (Hadera) love for creating things led to her taking a 1 to 1 online class by a professional candle maker. From there she got hooked and began experimenting with different formulations, fragrances and waxes. 

After months and months of practising (and lots of wax stuck on the walls and floors - sorry Mum), Hadera finally perfected the art of candle making and so Wick Guru was born.

Wick Guru strictly uses eco-friendly soy wax which in non-toxic unlike paraffin wax (which is commonly used to make candles). All of our fragrances are vegan, paraben and phthalate-free to protect Mother Earth. 

Sustainability doesn’t stop there for us. We care about the planet and people. So every time you buy a candle from us, 5% of our profits goes to donating solar lights to developing countries. We see it as light for a light.
