Candle tunnelling happens when a candle burns down its center, leaving a ring of solid wax around the outer edges. This happens when the candle doesn't have enough time to fully melt to the sides, typically around 2 hours. The remaining wax prevents the candle from achieving its maximum burn time, and the wick becomes harder to light, eventually getting overwhelmed by the melting wax.
Fortunately, there are several measures you can take to promote an even and efficient burn, minimising leftover wax. One effective approach involves using aluminum foil:
1) Start by lighting your candle. Then, create a hole in a piece of aluminum foil and position it over the top of the candle. This helps it to retain the heat and allows it to melt the hard wax rim along the sides.
2) While keeping a close eye on the candle, let it sit for 1-2 hours. Check on it every half hour, and eventually, you'll achieve an even melted wax pool. Take caution when removing the foil as it will be hot!
3) If there's excessive liquid wax that has now submerged the wick, use a tissue paper to absorb the extra wax (when the candle is unlit) and level out the wax surface.
In the event that an order is shipped with a missing or incorrect address, the customer will be responsible for the shipping fee + return fee. This fee covers the expenses incurred by our shipping partner for handling the returned package. If you decide that you no longer want the order, we can issue a store credit for the total amount, excluding the original shipping fee. It is important to note that, as a small business, we are unable to absorb these costs. We greatly appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Due to the nature of our products, used candles cannot be returned or refunded.
However, we will replace or refund items damaged during shipment if you send photographic proof to hello@wickguru.com within 1 week of delivery.

This buttery croissant candle completely exceeded my expectations. Some brands claim for candles to smell of a certain scent and it doesn’t always live up to your expectations, but this candle smells incredible — like walking into a fresh bakery. When it’s burning, my whole kitchen fills with the most comforting, warm, buttery scent. It’s beautifully strong without being overwhelming, which is perfect. One of those candles that instantly makes your space feel cosy and inviting.

The smell is amazing, strong enough that you can notice as soon as you enter a room but subtle enough to not be over powering. The aroma is there more in the background, when you breathe in you notice it without having to really try. The best part for me is how long it’s lasted. Amazing value for money and will definitely be ordering again!

This candle smells incredible! As soon as I saw the ad on Instagram I couldn't stop thinking about it! I ordered the mixed tealight selection so I could try a few and when I opened the buttery croissant I immediately went online and ordered a large one! It smells delicious and genuinely like freshly baked, buttery pastries! I'm obsessed! It burns so evenly and makes the whole house smell amazing.10/10, will one hundred percent be buying another one soon 😍

The candle throws the scent so wide for a soy candle and quite literally filled the whole downstairs of my house. It smells SO comforting, like a bakery but not too sweet like say, cookie scents can be. It has layers and despite it being a really cosy scent, I’ll burn this all summer long.
The burn is even and clean, and the glass jar is chic and will be recycled. The label is a lovely balance of minimal but luxe feeling. When the package arrived it was all very aesthetic and also recyclable, and not excessive packaging which I loved. Perfect balance.
In short: I love it and I’m so happy I found wick guru. Gonna go get another now.
I’m not normally one to buy candles but I got the buttery croissant one for my girlfriend and the smell is unbelievable. The candle itself is slightly smaller than I expected, not that it’s an issue because the smell is so much stronger than the previous Jo Malone candle I got her. I could genuinely smell this throughout the whole house before it was even lit. 10/10
I love the smell of this candle, it's exactly as described. I'm looking forward to burning it! Definitely recommend adding this candle to your basket. I'd say this one is my favourite alongside the pain au chocolate.
The smell is incredible, sad the pain au chocolat is out of stock, as I wanted both of them with the 3 wicks. Amazing quality, amazing smell, even when the candles are off!
I’d say my overall experience was average. The candle was posted out a week after an email that said it was being posted out the next day, which didn’t make a great first impression. When the candle arrived, it was smaller than expected which was a little disappointing (though the grams were clearly listed on your website in your defence, they just look bigger in the pictures I guess) I didn’t really feel as tho the candle smelt like croissants (or buttery) it reminded me of a Christmas cookie Yankee candle which I found confusing. Having said that, I can tell the candles are good quality, I liked the container and branding etc the scents are strong and really fill the room nicely, so overall 3/5 stars ✨
This candle's scent is warm, rich and genuinely makes my home feel like a bakery in the best way. It fills the room beautifully without being overpowering and it lasts for hours. Definitely one of the most unique and comforting candles I've tried.
Gorgeous candle, smells amazing and love the packaging. The only thing that would top it being perfect would be if it came with a lid (aerated of course so that you could still smell it when not in use) just to stop it getting dusty in between uses
